A Friend. A Father. A Husband.
Gone Too Soon.
On May 3, 2026, we lost one of the good ones. A dear friend's husband — funny, full of life, deeply loved and the rare ability to make EVERYONE be seen and loved — suffered a heart attack at just 50 years old. He did not survive. He left behind his wife (my Candy Pants) and their three daughters, ages 15, 14, and 12.
I was privileged to be witness to Candice and Brad meeting and falling in love, the honor of being in their wedding, and knew Brad longer than my own husband. He will forever be my "Stupid Head" and I will forever be his "Mere-Bear!"
Brad was known for his massive collection of funny t-shirts. Anyone who knew him has a memory or 100 memories of him with their favorite funny t-shirt. I know I have mine. Brad brought nothing but love, acceptance and pure joy to everyone that he interacted with...then there are those who knew how amazing his hugs and love were...we are better for that.
